The Charlotte 49ers will unveil a new football program in 2013, which will include a home-and-home series with North Carolina Central University (NCCU) for the 2013 and 2014 schedules. Charlotte will host NCCU, Sept. 14, 2013, and return a visit to Durham, Sept. 13, 2014. The home game will be played at the University's on-campus 15,000-seat football stadium; construction is expected to begin in May.
This is the seventh home-and-home series that the 49ers have scheduled for its first two seasons and gives the 49ers a third home game for the inaugural 2013 campaign.
"We are excited to announce another home game for that first season," said director of athletics Judy Rose. "In addition, we've added another in-state opponent which will make for a convenient trip for our fans in the second season."
